  2. Multi-Period Workforce Scheduling • Requirement of skilled repair time (in hours) is given below. • Initially, 50 skilled technicians are available. • Each technician is paid $2,000 • works up to 160 hrs per month.

  3. Multi-Period Workforce Scheduling • Each month 5% of the technicians leave. • A new technician needs one month of training, is paid $1,000 per month, and requires 50 hours of supervision of a trained technician. • What would be our objective?

  7. Basketball Team • A basketball team consists of seven players who have been rated (on a scale of 1=poor to 3=excellent) according to their • Ball-handling, • Shooting, • Rebounding, and • Defensive abilities

  8. Basketball Team • The positions that each player is allowed to play and the player’s abilities are as given in the table below:

  9. Basketball Team • At least 4 members must be able to play guard, at least 2 members must be able to play forward, and at least 1 member must be able to play center.

  10. Basketball Team • The average ball-handling, shooting, and rebounding level of the starting lineup must be at least 2.

  11. Basketball Team • If player 3 starts, then player 6 cannot start
