Care Induction Programmes Feedback from some providers: • ‘Care induction programmes do not consistently meet the Care Certificate Standards’ (there appears to be variation in content and assessment) • ‘New employers lacking confidence in the assessment of the Care Certificate awarded by previous employer’ (new employees completing full induction programme and CC repeatedly)

Nursing Associate • The Shape of Caring review (HEE, 2015) identified a gap in skills and knowledge between HCAs and RNs • Creation of Nursing Associate role to bridge gap and help meet society’s changing health and care needs • Registered profession, approx. 2000 NAs eligible to apply to NMC register January 2019 • NA role being considered in residential care homes, nursing homes, and home care services
