    2. Derecho concedido por el rey a determinados peninsulares para po- seer tierras, así como los indios que habita- tasen allí. Los peninsulares debí-an proteger, alimentar, vestir, transmitir cono- cimientos y convertir- los a la Religión Católi- ca. Encomenderos: nombre dado a los peninsulares propietarios de tierras. Encomienda: conjunto de indios obligados a tra- bajar para el Encomendero las tierras o posesio-nes del peninsular.

    3. Trabajo obligatorio o forzoso ejecutado por los indios. Se realizaba en la agricultura, en los obra-jes y en la minería. Debían recibir un mísero jornal, pagar el tributo no quedándoles algo para sus nece sidades. ¿Qué diferencias sustanciales hubo entre la mita incaica y la del coloniaje?

    4. Grandes talleres en los que se fabricaban textiles de diversas calidades, velas, jabo-nes, pieles curtidas. Trabajaban indios, hombres y mujeres, de lunes a sábado, desde las 7:00 a.m. hasta las 6:00 p.m. Recibían jornales ínfimos y castigos físicos (latigazos).
