EVT Overview • Nick Peterson and Will Cobb participated in 2013 England Races • Started Building 2015 Car on July 24 • Shipped Car to England September 27 • Raced on October 10/11 at Rockingham Motor Speedway,Corby, UK • Energy Huntsvillemembers donated$14,000
Greenpower Finals 2015 • 79 teams from five countries • Teams ranged from elementary school to corporate sponsored • Races were • Time-based • Lap-based • UK teams participated in previous elimination races
EVT Challenges • Build the car in two months • Working in Will’s Dad’s basement • All designs were intuitive (no modeling) • All items COTS (Home Depot, McMaster Carr) • Two-year gap in participation resulted in very conservative safety and rules interpretation • No track testing
GreenPower UK 2015 • 79 Teams • UAH had top finish of 26 • Open Garage • Physically able to look at other cars • Other team shared best practices and lessons learned
