Existing Mini Roundabout Design Guidance Small roundabouts used in low-speed urban environments often characterized by having mountable (or painted only) center islands and splitter islands. The central island should be domed using 5 to 6 percent cross slope, with a maximum height of 5 inches. Source: FHWA Guide, 2000 Typical ICD Range: 45 – 90 ft
