  6. “Education is everyone’s business” Orientation DVD For a long time, I have been looking for a way to tell the stories of the ABE/GED programs and services to the community that would inspire individual to pursue their life-long dream/goal to complete a high school equivalency credential and to think differently and take action to be a life-long learner. Our “THANK YOU” to Ms. Velma for letting us use her class and the opportunity to encourage on-going ABE/GED students to participate and contribute their stories, time, knowledge, skills and fellowship. Moreover, their attendance for this morning’s mini-seminar is very much appreciated. RH330 Fall 2013

  7. “Education is everyone’s business” Project goals The purpose of this informational session is not only to properly explain the Orientation DVD Project and its intended purposes, but also to inform the student participants about the importance of the Consent Form to take video and personal stories about their educational journey. This project exemplifies personal learning, one student at the time. Moreover, it is a ABE/GED activities that will reenergize on-going students, inspires future students and start a new conversation about equal educational opportunities, what we all want for both and how to make it happen. ABE/GED is providing the educational requirements and evaluating one student at the time, using real work and the standards of the real world. RH330 Fall 2013

  9. “Education is everyone’s business” Friends of Change CONCENTRATION CARING COLLABORATION COMMITMENT “Change is not only possible, it is necessary. We are losing our children and they are losing their future.” CONVIVIALITY CONVERSATION Big changes are coming in the national GED program as of January 1, 2014. Future GED test are anticipated to be more difficult and more costly. Anyone without a high school diploma who is thinking about getting a GED someday should do it now. RH330 Fall 2013

  10. “Education is everyone’s business” Mission Statement The mission of the Adult Education Programs is to ensure that educationally disadvantaged adults of the community have the opportunities to acquire basic skills necessary to function more effectively and productively in order to gain upward mobility by providing opportunities that will enable them to pursue further education in support of the Northern Marianas College mission.   14. “Education is everyone’s business” STOP-OUT STUDENTS ABE/GED administrator has reported that retention and graduation rates for adult students are declining due to the "stop-out" phenomenon. Adult students are often faced with complex financial and logistical challenges that interfere with their plans for program(s) completion. RH330 Fall 2013
