2. Opening Imagine if you were a wizard. You could do all sorts of useful things, right? Only one problem though, where would you learn it? Harry Potter thought he was only a normal boy who lost his parents in a car crash when he was just a baby. His aunt and uncle found him on their front porch one day. They tried to hide the secret from him until the day of his eleventh birthday. That was when he found out the truth.

3. Summary For twelve years Azkaban, the dreadful prison for wizards has chained one of the most dangerous criminal of all time; Sirius Black. Sirius Black was said to have killed 13 people with one curse and rumored that he was a supporter of Voldemort, the most feared wizard of all time. Now Black has escaped from Azkaban rumors have said that he was heading to Hogwarts. Harry Potter is now in his third year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Of course Harry already has enough trouble to deal with; Professor Snape is nasty as ever, and to Harry to make matters worse; the third-years all get to go to Hogsmeade all except for Harry. Harry finds a mysterious, enchanted map that holds all the secret passageways in Hogwarts. So with the help from Mr. Moony, Padfoot, Wormtail, and Prongs he finds himself sneaking to Hogsmeade . One day a Mysterious broom arrives. Hermione seems suspicious about it but Harry and Ron are too excited to care. Hermione seems to think that there was some kind of hex, jinx, or curse on it. She finally convinces Professor McGonagall to examine it. Days later the broom comes back pronounced safe. Hagrid on the other hand was having some trouble with Buckbeak the hippogriff. After scarring Malfoy on the arm Buckbeak was sentenced to execution. Knowing about Hagrid’s problem Harry, Ron, and Hermione come before the execution for a visit to Hagrid’s house. After chasing Crooshanks into a underground tunnel they arrive at the Shrieking Shack.

4. Setting The setting of this book is placed at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is a school for young witches and wizards to learn and practice magic. They learn about transfiguration, potions, charms, defense against the dark arts, herbology, care of magical creatures, and the history of magic. There are four houses; Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. They are named after the four founders of Hogwarts; Godrick Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Slazar Slytherin.

5. What Attracted me to this book My friend recommended the series to me. I thought I would give it a try and see what it would be like. I enjoyed the first book very much and decided to read the whole series but out of all the books I liked the third one the best.

6. What I liked: I liked how in the end everything came together in the end. Sirius Black was framed to kill Pettigrew but he proved that they were wrong. Also in the end they explained why Hermione kept on disappearing. What I disliked: Actually this book was so wonderfully written I can’t think of a part that I didn’t like. What I liked/disliked

7. Hermione- A very clever witch. Possibly the cleverest on in the school. She met Harry and Ron on the Hogwarts Express in their first year. She’s not exactly as brave as Harry or as nice as Ron but she is emotional and has a sort- spot in her heart. Main Characters The main characters in the story are Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermoine Granger. Harry- he is a ordinary-looking boy with brilliant green eyes and jet-black hair that is always untidy. When he was a baby his parents died trying to protect him from Voldemort. When Voldemort tried to kill Harry he was defeated and Now Harry is left with a scar on his forehead that Is shaped like a lightening bolt. Harry was left at the doorsteps of number Four, Privet Drive. His Aunt and Uncle tried to Cover the fact that Harry was a wizard. Ron- he is Harry’s best friend. He has flaming red hair like the rest of his family. He has 6 other siblings. He’s really poor so he gets his stuff from second-hand shops. His old wand broke because the Whomping Willow destroyed it.

8. Recommendations I would recommend the whole series for people who like fantasy or adventure. Harry Potter has a adventure in every book. It also talks a lot about magic.

9. I would rate this book 5 stars out of 5 because it is very interesting and packed with adventure. For level of reading I would rate this as a 3 it’s easy for me but I wouldn’t say it’s hard either. Ratings

A year later her little sister Diana was born about to years later. Joanne started writing at the age of six. Joanne went to Exeter University where she earned her first French degree. She then traveled to Paris for a year. Joanne started writing and planning about Harry Potter while she was on a train. She liked the beginning very much so for the next five years she planned and outlined it. Joanne married in October 1992 and then gave birth to her daughter Jessica. Then she moved to UK where the First book was finished and finally published.
