Port St. Joe Booming Plan for the Pass • A 10-day trigger point in advance of forecast oil arrival at St. Joe Pass will be activated to engage booming activity for the 42" boom • 42" Navy Boom will be placed at the mouth of St. Joe Pass to deflect and collect any oil that attempts to enter via the pass • Upon completion of the 42" boom placement, a NOFI Harbor buster (or equivalent skimmer vessel) will be placed in the pass behind the 42" boom and dedicated to this service • Upon completion of the 42" boom placement, an oil collecting barge will be placed on the southernmost end of the boom, where it forms a natural collection point
Lower Bay Port St Joe Booming Strategy • 18" boom will be placed across St. Joe Bay to protect existing scallop beds • Local work forces are preferred for laying this strategy • The boom will be monitored daily for integrity and repaired as necessary until the threat of oil is over
