W.A.L.T.(We Are Learning Today) • How to produce a piece of written work that can attain a level 5. • By writing longer sentences. • By writing more interesting sentences. • By using a variety of language. • By giving your opinions. • By writing in the present tense (it’s happening now) and the future tense (it’ll happen later).

  2. W.I.L.F.(What I’m Looking For) You are going to write about your free time. I’m looking for a piece of work which includes: • Descriptions of WHAT you are doing and WILL be doing. • Information about WHEN, WHERE, WHY, and WHO WITH. • Your OPINIONS and WHY you have them.

  3. STARTER - W.A.G.O.L.L.(What A Good One Looks Like) • What information do these sentences contain? Choose from WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, WHY, WHO WITH. • Voy a jugar al fútbol. • Esta tarde voy a jugar al fútbol. • Esta tarde voy a jugar al fútbol al parque. • Esta tarde voy a jugar al fútbol al parque con mis amigos. • Esta tarde voy a jugar al fútbol al parque con mis amigos porque es divertido.

  4. Help! I don’t know what to write! You don’t need to start every sentence from scratch! You can decide which bits to keep, which bits to change a little and which bits to get rid of. Look at this “model” sentence. Esta tarde voy a jugar al fútbol al parque con mis amigos porque es divertido. Me encanta el fútbol.

  5. Change the words! • Esta tarde • Voy a jugar al fútbol • Al parque • Con mis amigos • Es divertido Some help: Al deportivo mañana Esta noche Con mi prima Es relajante Es bueno A la playa Voy a ir al restaurante Con mi madre y mi padre Voy a practicar el golf Sábado por la tarde

  6. N.I.Y.T.(Now It’s Your Turn) • Open the document “Mi Tiempo Libre”. There are 2 exercises. • You will see that some phrases are highlighted. In other places there are empty highlighted boxes. • You can type anything appropriate in the empty boxes. • Click on a highlighted phrase. You now have a drop down menu. You can choose which option you want to complete the sentences. • Complete both exercises. The first is guided. You have more choice in the second. When you have finished, print a copy to keep.

  7. W.H.I.L.T.?(What Have I Learned Today?) Without looking at your work, if possible: • An example of WHAT • An example of WHEN • An example of WHERE • An example of WHO WITH • An example of WHY.
