  3. Silver Ring Thing is this coming Friday, the 18th from 6:30 - 9:00pm at Seton LaSalle.   • Sign up by Wednesday, the 16th with your religion teacher, Ms. Dorrie, or Ms. Farrell.  

  4. There are still some spaces left for the March for Life, next Friday, the 25th.  Sign up with Ms. Farrell to secure your seat on the bus. •  The March is in Washington, DC where we join with thousands of people across the nation who together stand for the dignity of life.  

  5.  Adrianna Stacy and Peyton Holleran competed at the North Allegheny Forensics Tournament this weekend and placed in the top fifteen of over 75 public forum debate teams with a record of 3 wins and 1 loss. • Congratulations!!

  6. MAPS is sponsoring a gently used magazine drive and who ever would like to donate magazines should please drop them in the box outside of the Guidance office door.

  7. Driver’s Education class – Spring Session 2013 • Driver’s Education class information for the Spring Session can be obtained in the Main Office. We need 25 students enrolled to have the class. Students must sign up in the Main Office. The class is held on Tuesdays from 2:40pm to 5:40pm for ten weeks beginning February 5, 2013. • Any questions please see Mrs. Ceponis in the Main Office.

  8. Club Pictures will be taken on Tuesday January 22nd in the Donahue Pavilion.   • Lists will be posted in each classroom.   • Please be on time for your picture!

  9. Congratulations to our Commended Students in the National Merit Program. • The following students have received a letter of Commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Program: • Mackenzie Freudenrich, Kate Girdhar, Maggie Laird, MaddieRunco, KalynSigg. • These students had outstanding scores on the PSAT National Merit Scholarship Test.

Members of the Class of 2013 • Senior Mid Year ReportsIn order to ensure accurate mid year reporting to colleges, please submit all college denial, acceptances, and waitlisting to the Guidance Office immediately.  The Guidance Office will make copies for you. • Also submit any scholarships received.  • Thank you.

  13. CURTAINS is the Masque spring 2013 show! • At this moment, auditions for all men and upper class ladies (grades 11 and 12) will be Tuesday, January 15th starting at 12:30. • Underclass ladies will be Wednesday, January 16 starting at 12:30. • Callbacks will be Thursday, January 17 immediately after dismissal.  • Mrs. Gentile has the Audition music.

  14. The Maria Goretti Spirit Club will begin January 22nd. • All students that have already signed up please stop by Miss Dorrie’s office to get the new calendar for this semester. • Any students still interested in helping please see Ms. Dorrie

  16. January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month • Cervical cancer ribbon colors are white and teal • Cervical cancer is only found in women • Cervical cancer is caused by the HPV virus • Prevention for the HPV virus includes the Gardasil vaccine
