  2. Major Characters • Romeo • Juliet • Friar • Nurse • Benvolio • Mercutio

  3. PlotScene 1 • Romeo goes to Juliets house • Romeo jumps over the orchard wall to see Juliet • When he is leaving Mercutio and Benvolio see him • Mercutio and Benvolio thinks Romeo is still chasing after Rosaline • Then they decide not to chase him on his quest for love and go to bed.

  4. Plot Scene 2 • Romeo is hid in the amongst shadows outside the Capulets house • He is there so he can see Juliet • Then Juliet comes outside and Romeo is glad she has come to see him • Juliet thinks she is alone she says aloud of her love for Romeo • Then before they part they make a plan to get married so that no one will know.

  5. Plot Scene 3 • Romeo goes to Friar Laurence’s cell • Romeo tells Friar Laurence about his plans for marriage • Then Friar tells him about the medicine he has that can kill and heal • Romeo persuades Friar that he is true love and will do anything to marry Juliet

  6. Plot Scene 4 • Mercutio and Benvolio are wandering the streets • They see a note Tybalt has left to Romeo challenging him to a fight • They are worried that Romeo has so much on his mind that he wont fight his best • Then Romeo arrives and they are glad to see him so happy since he has been sad

  7. PlotScene 5 • Juliet is Franticly awaiting the new about Romeo • The nurse comes in but wants to talk about herself • Juliet tells her not to withhold Romeos plan any longer • The nurse says she doesn’t like Romeo, but approves of him • Then she tells Juliet what all Romeo has told her

  8. PlotScene 6 • Romeo and Friar Laurence are awaiting on Juliet’s arrival • Friar gives Romeo some advice before the wedding cautioning him to love moderately • Then Juliet appears • He starts the marriage at once • Then they are married
