SQP C34 Integration Begins • C34 is the first of 8 quarter panels to be integrated • Mechanical Mating of C34 went well • Lift Fixture validated • After mating with the BPSS, C34 passed all electrical connectivity tests • The first Heat Exchanger was connected at PP0 and Leak Checked on Friday • HX connection will continue for the next few days • Preparation for first connection of Type 0 cables to PP0 underway E. Anderssen LBNL
Beam Pipe Load Transfer to BPSS complete • Bellows and Temporary supports installed at PP1 • Wires at PP0 installed and tensioned • Sensitivity study of adjustment resolution of PP0 adjustors complete E. Anderssen LBNL
SQP Production Status • Recently added systems delayed delivery of C34 until now, but should not delay remaining panels • More work was added between loading Opto-Boards and Completion of an SQP • Component preparation and fabrication can be done in parallel and is now mostly complete • Components are added to installed opto-boards so must wait for this to be completed on each SQP • Opto-board loading is progressing fast • A34, the next load candidate will follow C34 on schedule—2wks after C34 • Remaining panels should follow at 1/wk thereafter to keep on schedule • This rate seems possible, but will likely involve long work-days and work on weekends to achieve E. Anderssen LBNL
Opto-Board Heater • Decided to add Heater and Blanket system to SQP to address issues with Opto-Boards in early January • Heater strip introduced to every Opto-Board group to control temperature • Required installation and routing thru PP1 of new cables to power heaters • Additional Components to fabricate and integrate • First article Heater strips available in late Jan, full production lot now in hand—need to solder together • Blankets fabricated by hand from Cu-Kapton, all complete • Heater Cables to dress along SQP Backbone, thru PP1 and splice to Heater Strips • Testing to validate performance progressed in parallel with design to integrate additional services • Additional QA steps added to qualify Heaters • IR survey and additional electrical connectivity tests added to SQP assembly task list • Minimal impact to overall assembly—just more work E. Next Steps • A34 at SR1 8-March • Based on experience of completing C34 and A34, optimize the assembly order, and queue • Fit in PSQP opto-test after A34 complete/before C56 • Completion of SQP’s is opto-board driven, and the loading is going fast and well E. Anderssen LBNL
