New programme 2009/2010 Preparatory measures for the participation of Candidate and Potential Candidate countries in EFSA 2009-2010, under the instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance IPA financed by the European Commission Participation of the Macedonian experts on the EFSA meetings as observers

  5. New programme 2009/2010 Number of seminars and study visits in various areas such as animal health and welfare, chemical contaminants, harmonization of risk assessment approaches, data collection, emerging risks and novel food, etc

  6. “Preparatory Measures for the Participation of the Candidate and the Potential Candidate Countries in EFSA”, 2009-2010* • Prepare the competent bodies in beneficiary countries active in the fields relevant to the work of EFSA, the European Commission and Member States for their future participation in EFSA networks, • Help create communication and information exchange systems that will enable future participation of the beneficiary countries in EFSA networks,  • Transfer knowledge on methodologies used in the fields within the remit of EFSA, in particular on risk assessment and data collection,  • Support the beneficiary countries in their communication activities linked to risk assessment. *http://www.efsa.europa.eu/EFSA/PartnersNetworks/efsa_locale-1178620753812_EUEnlargement.htm

Future Activities 2010 Continuation of participation of Macedonian experts on different EFSA meetings Study tour together with delegation from Turkey Seminar on Dietetic products, nutrition and allergies including health claims in Parma, September 2010 Seminar on Chemical Contaminants, Emerging Risks and Scientific Cooperation including practical examples of Risk Communication in Ankara, November 2010

  8. Future activities 2011-2013 newPre-Accession Programme from 2011 – 2013will start Expectations! More and more participation in EFSA Meetings, Colloquies, Conferences e.g. meeting of: Advisory Forum plenary and working groups, Focal Point, Zoonoses data collection, BSE, Consumption data base, Pesticide Steering Committee, Pesticide emissions, Chemical Occurrence; Continuation of organizing pre-accession seminars.

  9. Goals Large exchange of information, experience, knowledge and scientific expertise in the area of food safety Develop a system that will guarantee the food safety for consumers in the Republic of Macedonia. Continuation of the cooperation - crucial importance.
