  4. What is lava? Magma that has reached the surface and cooled

  5. Answer these questions • What do you call lava while it is still in the mantle? • Through what does a volcano erupt? • Do you think all volcanoes have only one vent? If not, what type of volcanoes would have more than one vent?

  6. Geologists classify volcanoes into three main groupings: Cinder cones Composite volcanoes Shield volcanoes
