Rice University Biochemistry and Cell Biology, Senior Karen Romero Hometown, Country: Bogotá, Colombia I decided to take part in INNOVATE 2007 because I would like to learn more about global technology and its effect on our economy and the advancement of the biosciences and medicine. I look forward to learning several aspects of technological advancement in Asia and to meeting many new friends across the US and in Asia.

Therefore, I’m interested in learning about high-tech healthcare and its availability internationally. Previous Experience in Asia: Born and raised in Saigon, Vietnam. I’ve been back to Asia twice, most recently to participate in a 3-week long school-building project with Sunflower Mission and YMCA last spring break.
