School Governance • Central importance of RCP/Deanery collusion. • The board to meet 6 monthly, wide representation from all levels of programme, includes all STC chairs. • PG School management committee. • CMT committee and director. • Subregional CMT (college tutor) committees run CMT programmes. • GIM (acute) speciality training committee.
Functions (Summary) • Establish RTG programmes CMT and beyond • Distribute placements; best education • Selection to CMT, allocation to specialities • Introduce and deliver new curricula • Ensure teaching programmes, appraisals and assessments are delivered. Manage RITAS • Establish remedial placements • Faculty development • Appoint key leaders (STC chairs, college tutors etc) • Internal QC, to PMETB standards • Support/advise Trusts in PGME • Publicise, research, promote our experience of the new structures
Early Tasks for the School • Establish administrative support • Identify and locate the CMT programmes and FTSTAs • Liaise with GP school on medicine in GP programmes • Appoint to the CMT programmes (years 1 and 2) through MTAS early 2007 • Plan for process of CMT allocation to ST3 specialities • Explain the reforms to colleagues • Set up CMT teaching “consortia” for years 1 and 2 • Prepare programmes to deliver the curricula
