Curriculum Reading – Guided Reading Independent Reading/Groups based on reading needs (flexible) Rigby and Fountas/Pinnell Assessments Math - Everyday Math- 4th grade 5th Grade Mrs. Katsaros-Molzahn Science – 4 units of study Each teacher teaches a unit Social Studies – 4 outcomes Each teacher teaches an outcome Writing – Writers Workshop format Narrative, Descriptive and Argumentative ( based on national standards)
Homework Check assignment book Leave Home Pocket –should be emptied each night Bring Back to School – homework, signed notes, etc. Math Study Links – Top – Practice from the day’s lesson,Bottom: Practice/review of skills, math facts Daily Homework assigned Monday -Thursday - (finish time is written on homework) Watch for an H with a circle around it. Help your child: Determine the best time and place to do homework Give help ONLY if your child asks Check assignments over when finished If your child is confused and you need to do fair amount of teaching, have your child put homework away and we’ll work on it at school. Homework is your child’s responsibility
