Goal 1: Financially Sound City OBJECTIVE OBJECTIVES • Responsible, low tax rate • City Services delivered in a cost effective, efficient manner • Responsible debt level consistent with City policies and emphasis on benefits to the community • Community satisfaction with quality of services and level of customer services • Adequate resources to support defined City services and service levels

Goal 2: Grow the Economy OBJECTIVE OBJECTIVES • More diverse, expanded tax base (commercial and industrial) • Infrastructure to support business attraction and growth • Attract new targeted businesses • Recruit businesses in Commerce park and at River Port • Develop Millstone Landing and River access

Goal 3: More Livable Community OBJECTIVE OBJECTIVES • Increase the number of workforce housing for residents ($100,000 - $180,000) and market rate rental housing • Homes and buildings complying with city codes property maintenance and appearance • Develop a downtown that is a community focal point • Increase police presence, visibility and community connection • Removal of unsightly buildings and homes

Goal 4: Greater Community Spirit and Pride OBJECTIVE OBJECTIVES • Preservation and use of Hardeeville’s history • Residents and businesses contributing to the community • Strong partnerships with the faith community, neighborhood groups and community organizations • City serving as a positive cheerleader and advocate for the Hardeeville community • Strong community events with active resident participation

  8. What Happens Now City staff are busy working on these items Updates on progress are made periodically at City Council Meetings and presentations throughout the region Opportunities for each of you to participate in building Hardeeville, grab a shovel and let’s make it happen
