Paul Revere was born in Boston on December in 1734. He lived in a family with eleven other children. His real name was ApollosRivoire. When he was an apprentice, to his dad, he learned how to be a silversmith. After his death, he was legally too young to take over his silversmith business, so his mother took over, but he did all the work At age twenty-one, he answered the governor of Massachusetts call for volunteers and went to help the French fight in the French Indian War, thus beginning his journey to help fight for his state and other men’s freedom around the colonies. Paul’s Life in the War • Just before the Revolutionary war, Paul Revere went on his legendary journey to north church with Robert Newman who helped him put up two lanterns in the church to warn the colonists that the British were on there way. • He put up two lanterns, which meant that the British had come by sea. • He also rode through Lexington yelling,” The regulars are coming out!” While many people say he said,” The British are coming!”he actually said the Regulars were coming out. • One of Paul's best friends, Joseph Warren, a.k.a. Dr. Warren died while fighting on the Battle of Bunker Hill. • On his famous ride, Paul Revere’s Midnight Ride, he was actually captured and was forced to answer the British in asking what he had been doing, while holding with a gun to his head. • Paul Revere did not create George Washington's wooden teeth like most people believe.
Paul’s Life After the War He died May 10, 1818, he was 83 years old. Paul was a health officer after the Revolutionary War. When the war was over, he started manufacturing iron, he especially loved to manufacture church bells for the local church. Paul had thirteen children. Eight with his first wife, and Five with his second wife.
Did You Know? Many people do not know this, but one of Paul's jobs was a dentist. When George Washington died, Revere was voted to ask for a piece of George's hair and made a golden urn to put it in. As many people may have believed he did, Paul Revere did not create George Washington's wooden teeth. Paul had fifty-one grandchildren, and had thirteen kids himself. Paul revere silver shop produced more than 5,000 pieces of silver works.
