RIPENING THE GRAINS FOR HARVEST • Mark 4:26-29 And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.

The Center of Christ's Atoning Work.--The subject of the sanctuary and the investigative judgment should be clearly understood by the people of God.All need a knowledge for themselves of the position and work of their great High Priest. Otherwise, it will be impossible for them to exercise the faith which is essential at this time, or to occupy the position which God designs them to fill…

  9. NOW! IS THE ATONEMENT DAY • We are in the great day of atonement, and the sacred work of Christ for the people of God that is going on at the present time in the heavenly sanctuary should be our constant study…

THE DAY OF ATONEMENT—IN THE MOST HOLY PLACE • Lev 16—the day of atonement: the cleansing of the Sanctuary; the most holy place, the holy place and the altar of burnt offerings from the uncleanness of Israel. The High priest will enter into the most holy place once a year—the yearly ministry. • Living before the presence of God.

The Call To Keep The Day Of Atonement • Leviticus 23:27 Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord. 28. And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the Lord your God. 29. For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people.

  17. Christ led us through the trial of faith • 1. He made us delightful in obeying God’s law. • 2. He supplied us the bread from heaven to make us grow and bear the fruit of righteousness. • 3. Through His mediation we received the blessings of sanctifications. • 4. By His sacrifice we become victorious in the time of trials.

  18. CHEST=HEART, TABLETS=MIND • Hebrews 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

  20. MANNA=CHRIST, OUR DAILY FOOD • John 6:31 Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat… • 35. And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

  21. AARON’S ROD=CHRIST, OUR HIGH PRIEST • Numbers 17:8 And it came to pass, that on the morrow Moses went into the tabernacle of witness; and, behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds.

  22. Hebrews 4:14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. • 1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

  24. …FOR THE WORK OF PERFECTION— TO ENABLE US TO LIVE IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD WITHOUT THE MEDIATOR

CHRIST’S WORK OF CLEANSING; TO PROVIDE SPOTLESS ROBE • …Those who are living upon the earth when the intercession of Christ shall cease in the sanctuary above are to stand in the sight of a holy God without a mediator. Their robes must be spotless, their characters must be purified from sin by the blood of sprinkling. Through the grace of God and their own diligent effort they must be conquerors in the battle with evil…

  26. …While the investigative judgment is going forward in heaven, while the sins of penitent believers are being removed from the sanctuary, there is to be a special work of purification, of putting away of sin, among God's people upon earth. This work is more clearly presented in the messages of Revelation 14. {GC 425.1}Note: The work in heavenly sanctuary is the work on earth, in us, in our body temple.

  27. The work in Preparation to Live without the Mediator • I saw that many were neglecting the preparation so needful and were looking to the time of "refreshing" and the "latter rain" to fit them to stand in the day of the Lord and to live in His sight. Oh, how many I saw in the time of trouble without a shelter! They had neglected the needful preparation;….

  28. … therefore they could not receive the refreshing that all must have to fit them to live in the sight of a holy God. Those who refuse to be hewed by the prophets and fail to purify their souls in obeying the whole truth, and who are willing to believe that their condition is far better than it really is, will come up to the time of the falling of the plagues, and then see that they needed to be hewed and squared for the building.

  29. …But there will be no time then to do it and no Mediator to plead their cause before the Father. Before this time the awfully solemn declaration has gone forth, "He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still." I saw that none could share the "refreshing" unless they obtain the victory …

  30. …over every besetment, over pride, selfishness, love of the world, and over every wrong word and action. We should, therefore, be drawing nearer and nearer to the Lord and be earnestly seeking that preparation necessary to enable us to stand in the battle in the day of the Lord. Let all remember that God is holy and that none but holy beings can ever dwell in His presence. (72) {EW 71.2}
