Lessons learned Health policies should be NATIONAL policies (i.e. should not change when government changes, but should be evaluated and changed independent of politics) Involvement of all stakeholders is essential to successful interventions (community, media, NGO’s Gov. Agencies, service users). This helps to reduce cost and avoid duplication.

    8. Lessons cont’d Funds needed for sustained services and should be allocated based on needs Integration of services ensures continuity and improves quality

    9. Next Steps Define policies where there are no existing policies Re-evaluate, strengthen and enforce existing national policies Have policies, protocols and manuals available
