  3. Re-establish LHC orbit... • In case orbit is not changed at the injection point • TI 2 trajectory can be kept • otherwise will need to • steer the TI 2 trajectory • (maybe) re-setup the TI 2 collimators

Injection protection set-up I • Resteer the line [possibly] • Set up TCDIs to new TI 2 trajectory, and validate [possibly] – 12h • Centering • Check phase space coverage with oscillation bumps in TI 2 of +/- deg [0,30,60,90,120,150] deg System tolerance Setting + tolerance Nominal setting 15-Sept-2010

  5. Injection protection set-up II • TDI/TCLI centering, TDI tilt adjustment – 4h • Full beam scraping with TDI jaws separately; for -1, 0, +1 mrad jaw tilt • Centering of TCLI • TDI protection validation – 4h • Grazing the TDI jaw with different angles, I&D with pilots 20-April-11 • Total time estimate: • About 1 shift if present TI 2 TCDI setup remains valid • About 2.5 shifts if new TCDI set-up and revalidation necessary
