What is a Search Engine? Internet search engines (e.g. Google, AltaVista) help users find web pages on a given subject. What is a meta-search engine? This is a search engine that looks up keywords in a bunch of other search engines and then combines the results. These engines are called metacrawlers. Examples of Meta Search engines: Metacrawler http://www.metacrawler.com/ Dogpile http://www.dogpile.com/
