  5. Planning • Hall Directors arrive in July for training • Residence Life Recycling and HD training • Keep it light, friendly and fun • HD overload • Eco Board Prep • Plan lunch meetings and purchases

  6. Be excited! • Recycling mascot • Trivia • Freebies • Let them know you’ll do the work, they just need to remind residents to recycle their cardboard and polystyrene • Suggest staff make banners/posters • Offer prizes i.e. hall with least amount of cardboard in the trash, neatest recycling area

  7. Prior to Opening • Meet with Residence Life recycling staff and custodial • Meet with Facilities Management and volunteer organizations • Pick-up schedule for roll-offs • Roll-off sites • Hours of operation • Division of labor • Pickup routes • Corral locations • Signage

  8. Prior to Opening - continued • Temp Labor and Volunteers • Lunch meetings • Contact Parking & Transportation • Follow-up letter with Residential Education • Contact Information • Risk Management “volunteer form” • End of July meet with Facilities Management and volunteer organizations

  9. How much do we collect? • 25+ tons of cardboard • 1.4 tons of polystyrene
