Finding time… • What are MSCF Contract Days? • How many are available each year? • What are Professional Responsibilities? • Does this include NLNAC work?
MSCF Contract Days • Full time work year: • 171 days over 2 semester • 171 days= class days, test days, & duty days(per contract language) • Example in 2011-2012: • 163 class days + test days + 8 duty days • Our college has 2 administratively assigned duty days • 6 duty days per year for faculty work • (varies college to college)
MSCF Contract • (class days, test days, and duty days assigned by the administration). • “Days not identified for these purposes shall be utilized by instructors for activities necessary for the successful accomplishment of their professional responsibilities” (MSCF Contract 2009-2011, Article 10, Section 1, pp. 30-31). • NLNAC is a professional responsibility! • That gives you 5 to 6 days a year!!!
Template • Feel free to use this • Feel free to make changes as needed • June Larson, my faculty, and I are hoping to be able to present at the National NLN conference in Orlando in September. We will know in March if our abstract is accepted. • Any feedback on the template would be greatly appreciated! • Sue.field@northlandcollege.edu
