Paragraph to describe problem • When I teach my class, the students are very quiet when I lecture. I will ask them questions, but no one will answer. For example, I have been teaching about genetics, when I am talking about DNA and I say, “A bonds with…” they are just silent…
Hypothesis Form of: “If…, then…, because” • If: your proposed solution • Then: describe your hoped for change • Because: the general teaching principle from class • This should be expanded on • Need to do more research
Hypothesis If I plan (in my lesson plan) to have specific questions that move beyond having students answer with basic facts and are grounded in experiences, then students will be more interested and willing to answer the questions that I pose, because students tend to be more motivated when ideas are grounded in experiences and they can connect to something they know (TE 407/8) and because students are more apt to be motivated when they have to think to answer a question (Stiggens, 2001)….
Implementation Plan • Paragraph for how you will implement the “if” of your hypothesis. • I will come up with specific questions and write them in my lesson plan • Examples of specific questions.
