Demonstrates commitment to “…enhancement of the quality of higher education and to the proposition that student learning is at the heart the mission of all institutions of higher learning.”
Definition is of “a carefully designed course of action that addresses a well-defined and focused topic or issue related to enhancing student learning.”
Characteristics of an effective QEP include:
Broad-based process in its issue development driven from institutional assessment
Focus on student learning outcomes and/or learning environment within context of institutional mission
Demonstration of institutional commitment for its successful life cycle
Broad-based involvement of institutional constituencies
Identification of goals and a plan for their assessment
