  4. It was a continuation of the cultural accomplishments of the Greek and Roman civilizations. • We still see the impact of the ideas and the attitudes of the Renaissance influence today.

  5. Your Task • You are a detective investigating why these men and women of the Renaissance Period are still being studied in the 21st. Century. • Your job is to choose one and create a who’s who among them using the “4 W’s and 1H” to profile their accomplishments. Include either a picture of them or anything significant to their importance. Finally, you will present your findings to the class.

  18. A Sample Investigation An example of using the 4 W’s and 1 H

Christopher Columbus • What: He completed many successful voyages discovering new lands. • Where: He sailed from Spain. • When: He began his voyages in 1492 and finally settled home after four voyages in 1504. • Why: Columbus believed the world was round. He wanted to establish trade routes in the Far east by traveling to the west (in the opposite direction.) He also wanted to discover riches never before seen. He requested the title “Governor” of all undiscovered lands from King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella. • How: He finally convinced the King and Queen of Spain to permit him to set out on these expeditions, and they funded his voyages provided he bring back newly-found riches and spread Christianity to any uncharted lands. • “CLICK” TO SEE HOW YOUR PROJECT WILL BE GRADED!
