Thanking God For Meals • While they were eating, Yeshua took bread, and after a blessing, He broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, "Take, eat; this is My body." (Mattityahu 26:26) • We do not bless the food but we bless God for providing the food. • Blessing God before or after meals is an important way of giving thanks to God.
You Are What You Eat • What happens when people eat things that are not good for them? • An ancient Rabbi said, "Wisdom is to the soul, as food is to the body." • Yeshua quoted from our Torah portion this week about the importance of what we really need to eat.
Deuteronomy 8:3 “Man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the LORD”
Living on Bread Alone? • People, unlike animals, need "meaning" in life. • What do you think that something, or someone is that fills us up? • Only Yeshua can, because He is God’s Word.
Yeshua the Bread of Life • Only Yeshua can meet our spiritual needs. • Often Yeshua is referred to as the Bread of Life.
