To be employed as a designer in consulting firms, state authorities e.t.c • To develop and apply concepts of geometric design for rural and urban highways • Outcome: -Demonstrate ability to design and evaluate various types of rural and urban highways • Knowledge of geometric design of highways • Knowledge of criteria for determining highway alignment

  3. Course contents • Introduction to Transportation Planning • Introduction to traffic engineering • Highway route surveys and location • Highway geometric design • Earthwork and Quantity • Comparison of hand calculation with software i.e. Eagle point

  5. Expect: succeed in exam Greater or Equal to 85% = A Less than 40%=F
