How Do Foundational Skills connect to Grade Level Standards? • RI.6.10: By the end of the year, read and comprehend non fiction in the grades 6-8 complexity band proficiently….. • Look at foundational skills at the students current reading level and plan an instructional path. • The foundational skills are the bridge to comprehension. Fluency and Decoding must be on grade level in order to meet RI.6.10.
