District Strategic Plan Goal #1: Student Learning & Success Significantly improve the success of our diverse student body in pursuit of their educational and career goals with special emphasis on closing the student achievement gap.
District Strategic Plan Goal #1 Objectives 1.1 Increase the percentage of students who transfer to a variety of four-year institutions while narrowing the transfer gap across subgroups. 1.2 Increase the percentage of students who receive relevant and timely training for the workplace while narrowing the achievement gap across subgroups. 1.3 Increase the number of degrees by 50% and the number of certificates by 100% by 2015. 1.4 Increase the percentage of Limited English Proficient students who become proficient in the English language. 1.5 Increase the percentage of students who are proficient in Basic Skills while narrowing the proficiency gap across subgroups.
Achievement Gap Report Note that the Achievement Gap Report wasn’t designed explicitly to track each of our strategic goals. It does however provide a window through which we can gauge our progress in closing the achievement gap.

College Scorecards State Chancellor’s Office Student Success Scorecards Education Code, Section 84754.5(d) Each community college district board of trustees shall review the Scorecard annually. The District will have one year from the release of the Scorecard report to submit the board minutes to the Chancellor’s Office as part of a regularly scheduled and noticed public meeting.
Transitional Year This year the data in our Achievement Gap report and the State’s Scorecard do not match perfectly. Next year our Achievement Gap report will be using data from the Scorecard

When reviewing Scorecard data 1. Read the definitions carefully 2. Know your denominator 3. Know the base year for the cohort 4. Don’t compare colleges; look at trends for a single college over time
