  1. How to successfully minister to your target audience

  2. Define your target audience Is it a: • Geographic specific: example: City, town, country or region • Demographic specific: example: particular group, club, business, industry or group of businesses • Gender specific or age specific • Or does it fill a particular need: example: restoration, rehabilitation, transitional or prison work

  3. Define your Objective or Fruit What is the goal or desired outcome in what your ministry will accomplish? Will it support the work of the church or start a new one. Will it work with the body and be supported by the body? Are you working with the five-fold gift ministry? Have you been given a vision or dream? “My people perish for lack of vision.” Who are they? Consider their gender, age interests. Get to know them. What do they do? What kinds of issues are they facing? • Family, marriage & relationships • Community & health • Home, business, finance, assets • Sports, fitness • Food, shelter, clothing Do research on your audience

  4. Outreach What kind of outreach will there be? • Brochures • Websites • Churches • Evangelistic • Discipleship Develop content and community for your target audience. Seek Council. Pray and develop pray support and mentorship.

  5. Ministry Plan Do you have a ministry plan? There is good news and bad news:

  6. 10 Advantages of Doing Ministry Without a Ministry Plan • Although we are to be led by the Spirit of God you can count on some of the following if you do not have an ministry plan: • You give the loudest person the opportunity to decide what happens at your church. • Sharp leaders who are accustomed to serving in organizations with clearly defined plans for future growth won’t stick around your church. That means more ministry for you! • You’ll get to hone your debating skills as people argue about what to do next. • More meetings! Where there's no strategy, the meetings flourish. • Some people call them church splits. We like to call them church plants. More mother churches! • You don’t have to worry about celebrating success, because no one even knows what success looks like. It’s just better to keep that a secret. • Rather than trying to discern God’s will for your ministry, you can just rely on dumb luck. • You don’t have to pray as much, because there's nothing to pray for. As an added bonus, that means you don’t have to develop as much faith either—whatever happens…happens. • You can count your offerings a lot faster, because people will save their financial gifts for organizations that actually have a plan for the money they receive. • Your lack of ministry strategy, which is a ministry strategy, will do just fine in Nothing, Arizona.

  7. Training & Preparation Are you ready to run the race or are in the process of being ready? Time for some self-examination. You may know that you have been called and chosen, but God has an order to things for it to be His ministry and His work instead of yours. You may have a high calling and purpose, but can you work with the Him and the body? Can you take direction and council? Are you working with the five-gift ministry for His blessing? Did you know that God usually starts people as a table wipe or something you would not expect?

  8. God’s Ministry or Yours, the two will have different outcomes Aspects of His ministry: • He is responsible and you are responsible to Him to take His words or Godly counsel • He is responsible for finances, needs and problems • It is to His glory instead of yours • It will build the body and each member and bear good fruit • The five-fold gift ministry will be involved • His will, will be done Aspects of Your Ministry: • You are on your own • Your will, will be done

  9. More Self Examination: Beliefs How do you define salvation? (If you are not sure then you will have difficulty explaining it to others.) Does your salvation or does the salvation you represent include: • Being led by His Spirit (for those are the sons of God) • Overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the words of your testimony. Is your speech in line with scripture. Do you have a good report? • Endure till the end. • Accept Christ as Lord and Savior. Do we accept the head and body? • Keep His Commandments and Covenants How do you define Christ? • Do you see Christ as just Jesus or • Do you see Christ as Jesus is the head and do you see the body and do you teach that if we are His body then we are to be broken. “My body is broken for you.” • Do you preach Christ Crucified, both the head and the body, with the body giving up their will for His? A Word of Caution: A little leavening spoils the whole loaf, but beware you are responsible for what you represent!

  10. More Self-Examination How do you view the body? • Do you believe that there is just one body and that the body is to work together in love and unity to accomplish His will? • Do you believe that all ministries are to build the body and each member and that we are to walk together? • Do you believe that all power in heaven and earth was given to the body so we can do all things through Christ, but in that do you believe then, if we have been given all power and authority we are responsible for the outcome of what happens here on earth? • Do you believe we have the power to forgive sin and that we need to forgive to be forgiven and to have the power to move mountains we must forgive?

  11. More Self-Examination How do you view God’s plan for the body globally? • Do you know God’s plan for the whole body? • Do you sow seeds of faith and life into the body, not just to build individuals, but the whole body? • Can you and do you exhort one another daily, pray for one another, walk with one another and support others ministry? • Do you tithe? • Do you walk in His Covenants and Commandments? • Are you an example for others to follow? • In ministry are you a servant or are you over others?

  12. The Body Needs Mentors 1. Godly Mentoring: Come alongside and spiritually exhort and encourage those who you deal with or God sends you. Are they more important than you? Mentoring is not big ministry, it is on a one to one. • Godly Mentoring: Builds up, exhorts believers to go further in their relationship with God and their purpose in life here on earth. Mentoring seeks God’s will for those He sends us. Mentoring offers the Good News that the body loves all and cares for all as He does. • Godly Mentoring: The Godly mentor leads by example. It accepts all, forgives all and loves all more than themselves. • Godly Mentors: Accepts those sent to them as family, treats all as sent from God. Understands that what we do to others we do to Him directly. • Godly Mentors: Always seek the will of God for all people offering His will instead of the mentors thoughts or beliefs.

  13. Before Mentoring, one needs to be a disciple:What God is looking for in a minister and what we are looking for:1) know that you were called of God2) know you were led by God and led by God to ODB3) ability to lead by example and desire to walk with people4) know God’s plan for yourself, locally, globally and be able to help believers find God’s plan for themselves5) understand the needs of the people or community you are called to serve and dedicated to helping people with their needs in body, soul and Spirit and communicate those needs to us and or others so we all can seek His will for them6) fruit of the Spirit7) work to edify the body and bring the body together in love and unity8) dedicated to a life of seeking God and prayer9) demonstrate the heart of God, focused more on service than teaching or preaching10) teach and preach Christ Crucified both Jesus the head and the body11) willingness to work as one body globally to pray for others, work with others, exhort others, encourage others and support each others ministry12) acceptance of five fold gift ministry and willingness to work with His ministry, apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers, which provides balance for the body13) tithing14) ability to follow simple directions especially if you know you were led to ODB

  14. 1Peter 2:9 “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people, that ye should show forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” What are the duties of a Royal Priest & the priesthood? Love all and accept all as sent from God. Pray for one another and seek God’s will for each He sends for His will is more important than our thoughts or beliefs. Be willing to walk with each that He sends and demonstrate His love, Ways, Covenants, Commandments and Forgiveness. Understand that God’s ways are the only ways and the only hope for the body and for the body to work as one body is in love and unity. To deny no one, but accept all and care for the needs of all before your own. To see people through His eyes instead of our eyes. A Royal Priesthood
