Outages • WBOB power failure 8/14 • Affected: … • Gophermail 8/15-16 • 50% of Gophermail authentication failed between 8/15 1540 and 8/16 1800 • User block lists unavailable after 8/14 power outage; fully restored by 8/16 • Intermittent IMAP/POP outages on diamond and peridot • Delayed e-mail to non-umn.edu sites 8/26-27 due to a queue inadvertently turned off to control outbound spam

  3. Server Upgrades • 3 Sun T5240 servers installed for use as new IMAP/POP servers • 3 Sun V890 servers to be repurposed as new webmail servers • 3 Sun V440 servers to be repurposed as new outbound MTA servers • 3 Sun V210 servers to be repurposed as additional inbound MTA servers

  4. Mail Filtering • Non-umn.edu addresses now allowed in departmental e-mail exploders

  5. Grouper • Grouper now available for use • http://middleware.internet2.edu/dir/groups/grouper/ • Can manage static groups with web interface • Apps can query group membership via CAH or LDAP • Contact isgroup@umn.edu if interested
