History & Key Accomplishments • Established in 1970 • 501(c)6 tax exempt Business League – 1981 • Incorporated - 1995 • Major Milestones • Helped form the Louisiana Health Care Alliance – 1984 • Associated Builders and Contractors Skills Training – Sponsored Building of School – 1985-1990 • Standardized Contractor Safety Orientation Training Program Developed and Key Partnership with Safety Council established – 1991 • Process Safety Management Contractor Audit Program Developed – 1996 • Contractor Safety Award Program Initiated – 1997 • Helped form the Association of Reciprocal Safety Councils – 1998-2003 • Standardized Contractor Security Passport Program Developed – 2004 • Changed name and logo to GBRIA - 2005 • Developed Contractor Workforce Development Awards – 2007 • Key Tenets to Contractor Workforce Development, Certified Craftsperson Definition - 2007 • Published Non-Fluent English Workers and Zero Incidents Safety Culture Guide – 2008 • Hydroblasting Computer Based Training Program – 2010 • Hydroblasting Craft Training Program & New NCCER Text – 2011, 2012 • GBRIA Basic Safety Recertification Exam – 2011 (additional option for BOP and BOP Refresher) • Facilitated expansion of craft training from private to public model – 2007 – 2013 • Scaffoldbuilding Best Practices Guideline published - 2013
