How are children with Special Education Needs Identified? • Baseline assessments • Significantly behind peers • Outside agencies involved • Referral from the inclusion team
What intervention are taking place? There are many 1:1 and small group Reading, Writing and Numeracy interventions which are tailor made to the needs of specific children Parents are trained and are involved in the ‘Better Reading Partnership’ Early Language Development Interventions These are evaluated using the school assessment system
What services are working with SEN children in our school? • Educational Psychologist • Speech and Language Therapist • Hearing Impaired Team • Vision Impaired Team • Learning Support Services
How do the services help children with SEN? • Assess children • Write Reports • Advise • Help with IEP’s • Involved in Annual Reviews
Where is the money spent? • Staffing • Training • Resources including ICT • Clubs
Future for SEN in our school • Audits of SEN resources/staff needs/staff strengths • Training for Teachers and Support staff on SEN • Specialised resources for e.g. Hearing/visual impaired • Cover Supervisors and Support Staff to work effectively and share interventions • Inclusion Team to meet once every half term to discuss progress
