  6. Tips for Doing Business • Spend sufficient time letting your business colleague getting to know you. • Display modesty when talking about your achievements and accomplishments. • Avoid confrontation. • First you must reach an oral agreement, a formal contract will be drawn later.

  7. Proper Title • Señor, Señora, or Señorita.

  8. Protocol for gifts • If invited you can bring chocolate, pastries, cakes, wine, liquor, or flowers. • If they have children bring a small gift.

  9. Proper Greeting • Expect to shake hands.

  10. Women in the Business World • Unlikely that you will see a women hold a senor position.

  11. US Customs Offensive in Spain • Don’t expect to talk about business on the first meeting.
