Wail, O oaks of Bashan, For the thick forest has come down. 3 There is the sound of wailing shepherds! For their glory is in ruins. There is the sound of roaring lions! For the pride of the Jordan is in ruins.

READ: EZEKIEL 34:2-3 2 Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy and say to them, Thus says the Lord GOD to the shepherds: Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flocks? 3 You eat the fat and clothe yourselves with the wool. You slaughter the fatlings, but you do not feed the flock.

READ: ISAIAH 24:5 5 The earth is defiled under its inhabitants, Because they have transgressed the laws, Changed the ordinance, Broken the everlasting covenant. READ: JEREMIAH 11:10 10 They have turned back to the iniquities of their forefatherswho refused to hear My words. They have gone after other gods to serve them. The house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken My covenant which I made with their fathers.

There he was, making something at the wheel. 4 The vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter. So he made it again into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make. 5 Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying: 6 O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter? says the LORD. Look, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel!

Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will bring such a catastrophe on this place, that whoever hears of it, his ears will tingle.
