470 MODULE MOUNTING MANUAL • General Information • Reason to use a Swiss Timing Data Module? • Swiss Timing is testing its equipment for next season’s ISAF Sailing World Cup, ISAF Sailing World Championships and the rio 2016 Olympic Games. • Swiss Timing collect live data from competition boats, race marks and committee boats. • For this Event only the 470M and 470W classes will be using Swiss Timing Data Modules. • Who is responsible for correct use? • Every athlete is responsible for correct and careful handling of the equipment during the Event.Please read and follow these instructions. Should you have questions please ask at the race office. • Why should an athlete pick-up their module and return it every day? • The module has a battery lifetime of approx. 10 hours. Therefore the Module must be recharged every day. Please ensure that each Module is returned directly when a sailor returns to the shore. • Collection and return of Modules will take place at sign-in/sign-outpoint. • Where can we find tracking data of the races? • Scoring : On event website but this is NOT done by Swiss Timing at this Event. • Graphics : Swiss Timing has a SailViewer where races can be followed live. Links will be provided via the race office when the system is activated. • Data: In this testing period the data, collected is not available for teams or athletes except for what is published on the announced websites.
Equipment 2 pieces • Socket plateUsed for mounting the Module. This plate will stay on your boat for the entire duration of the event. • This is the piece that identifies you and your boat. • Swiss Timing Tracking ModuleMust be securely clicked on to your Socket.Collected every day before races start.Return to same location a.s.a.p. after returning to shore. • This is the piece that calculates your position and transmits the data to the receiving station. • This piece does not have to be the same each day. 1 2
1 Swiss Timing Data Module Info Start sliding from half way along the Socket as shown in picture 2. Slide module onto Socket and make sure you hear the click. The ‘click’ means the Module is locked to the Socket. Hear “Click” to lock. Pull up to release. 2
