Let’s meet the teachers…Mrs. Fullington teaches Reading and ELA!
4th graders will meet each morning upstairs in front of their homeroom door. They will need to have an AR book or something quiet to look at until the bell rings.
All fourth graders are expected to follow all of our school rules and the rules of each classroom.
As part of our positive behavior plan, your child will be receiving “tickets” that they have earned during the school day. These tickets may be redeemed at mid-term and end of the nine weeks for special treats like tea with lunch, lunch with 2 friends and other special privileges. This has been a very popular activity in our school!
Transitions will occur several times during the day as students move from one subject area to another. They are expected to stand quietly in the hall until the teacher instructs them to enter the classroom.
Your child will receive a schedule that will guide them through the day. They will also receive an additional copy for you to keep at home.

Your child’s specific lunch time is located on their schedule. This year we are asking that your child not invite a friend to lunch. We want you and your child to spend more quality time together at Jerger! We also ask that you not bring in fast food for those days that you eat with your child. We are being monitored by the federal government this year and a drop in meals purchased can have an impact on our school funding. We also ask that you have your child return to their classroom promptly after lunch so that they do not miss any important information.
Our learning day at Jerger is full to the brim! If you need to take your child out of school, please do so for very important reasons. Also, our “learning” day ends around 2:50.
4th graders will go to “Specials” every day. On PE days, your child should wear sneakers so that they can fully participate in all PE activities!
**A weekly homework calendar will come home every first day of the school week! It will list every teacher’s assignments for home and other special announcements!
Fourth Grade Homework Assignment Sheet August 6-10 **Please visit our Jerger website and visit each one of your child’s teachers! Just go to www.tcitys.org, click on “Schools”, click on “Jerger”, click on “Visit website” and then click on the teacher you would like to view.
If you haven’t already done so, please sign up to use our Parent Portal! This is an awesome way to keep up with your child’s grades and assignments! You can check with our office for the form.
Afternoon pickup remains the same as last year. If your child has a sibling in Pre-K, K or 1st , they will need to meet their sibling in the cafeteria after school for pickup. All others without siblings in those grades will need to wait in the front lobby/hall for their ride. A green car sign will be sent home the first day of school for you to place in your vehicle. Teachers on duty will see your child’s name and they can call for them to be picked up at their designated area.
Dismissal begins at 2:50. That means children will be lining up and moving to their pick up area. We will begin calling students in the main building to begin loading at 3:00.
This year the state of Georgia will begin to integrate new state standards that are currently being used by 40 other states in the nation.
