Audience-Oriented • What’s in it for me? if you were the audience, what’s your expectation? • Purpose of your speech? Entertain, Persuade, Inform, Inspire • Background check list Education, Gender, Age, Profession, Taboo… The point? Fulfill what the audience want
Human Emotion-Oriented • 6 Emotions Happiness, sadness, anger, disgust, surprise, and fear. • Sensations Hear, see, smell, taste, and touch. • Catch their heart first, if you still have time, leave them ONE clear message. The point? Find what makes you ___, find your own way to tell it.

What is SETUP / PUNCH? • The “Punch” is where the audience laughs. The “Setup” is the one or so lines leading to the punch. • Example: SETUP: “At my gym they have free weights” PUNCH: “So I took them home”
What is Comparison? • Comparing one subject against another is a simple and very effective way of organizing your material.. Example: SETUP: (Then) “I was so close to lose my virginity” PUNCH: (Now) “I mean my dignity.”
What is Similes? • A simile is where one object is compared to another. Similes are very powerful tools because they create pictures. Similes are usually introduced with “It’s like…” • Example: SETUP: “Sex when you’re married is like going to a 7-11” PUNCH: “There’s not much variety, but at 3 in the morning, it’s always there.”
What is Observations? • In the dictionary, the definition of an observation is “Close examination, especially of natural phenomena.” Observations are where the comic tries to make sense out of a non-sensical world. • Example: “Have you ever noticed that your garbage weighs more than your groceries?”
What is Mimicking? • To mimic, means to “act out” the people you talk about. Become them. Mimic their voices, their body language. People love transformations. Instead of talking about your mom, talk about her as if you are her!!! • Example: Captain's show. Loosen your seat belt, Washroom, Don’t leave your staff,
What is List Making? • Lists make good punchlines. There are different ways you can use lists to make people laugh. The first way is with the “List of three.” The first two have something in common (setup) and the last one is the unexpected (punch) • Example: “I like to think of myself as a woman of European influence: (1) makeup by Germaine Monteil (2) nails by Faberge…(3)body by Haagen-Dazs.”
What is Callbacks? • A callback is when you make a reference, later in your act, to something you said earlier. • Examples? What do you hear today?

Stage 2 “Goal” as your address • Rehearsing speeches by your “hand” and know what you can do beforehand you can’t just stay in the hatch and pray to be a chicken. Those are my proven strategies that you may consider trying.
Never to Be Out-Prepared • Expect the unexpected (Material) -Microphone (Be comfortable with your aid) -Recorder (audio or video tape yourself and watch it) -Dress (From head to toe) -Surrounding (outdoor? Stage? Restroom? How big?) -Emergency kit (battery, plan B, tapes, extra core) -stage time and sequence The point? Get prepared and get controlled
Never to Be Out-Prepared • Practice until you internalized it (Mental) -Mentors/Coach (make it your own way to present it!!!) -Make it your first priority(once in a life time) -Spot check (pick up and go!!!) -Visualize it(You have to see what you want to be) -Great cycle(handwork-pressure-compliments-p-h) The point? Minimize any possible mistakes
Stage 3 “Persistence” as your stamp • “Never, never, never give up” This is the secret of “Hubertous” The only way to send your letter to your destination is to stick your stamp and persevered until the tree of your hard work bear the fruit.
Never, Never, Never Give Up • Be like a stamp -Be a full time student (Good and bad things and things happened around you) -Be a life time learner (Extend your horizon to reinforce your message and material) -Be a servant teacher (There is always someone who is better than we are in one way or the other. Learn from them!!!)
Finally, You Know Why… • You know why you lost, improve it. • You know why they won, analyze it. • You know why you won, share it.
