Leadership continued: Wikipedia: Leadership has been described as a “process of social influence in which one person can enlist the aid and support of others in the accomplishment of a common task” “Somebody whom people follow, or as somebody who guides or directs others” “Organizing a group of people to achieve a common goal”

  5. Leadership continued: Stephen R. Covey: “is communicating to people their worth and potential so clearly that they are inspired to see it in themselves.”

  7. As a Leader: Invest in your people Your staff needs someone to care about them for who they are That they matter That they make a difference

  9. Managing vs. Leading (continued) Each organization needs managers and leaders…..sometimes they are the same person Management skills do not always lead to becoming a good leader A good leader may not be a good manager

  18. Lean In’s Lessons for Girls Bossy or executive leadership skills?? Parents need to commit small acts of assertiveness, develop this skill Educators need to observe the dynamics in a work group Girls should stop apologizing

  19. 50% Women are 50% of the population. It isn’t unreasonable to want them to have 50% of the leadership roles Women are now in powerful leadership positions but may still be referred to as ‘a female facilities management director’
