  6. Bachelor degree at IT Faculty

  7. Bachelor degree at IT Faculty

  8. Bachelor degree at IT Faculty

  9. Bachelor degreeat FIT Gaining a Bachelor degree at IT Faculty requires240credits: • Six-semesters studies = 180credits • Seventh and eight semester(project) = 60credits

  10. Questions after ECTS allocation • Has the ECTS allocation been realistic? • Remedial classes in ECTS system? • Mobility in B&H and abroad? • ECTS in the current system of school years? 5. ..............

  11. Realistic ECTS allocation? Passing rate 1. Computer Systems Arhitecture(140 h – 6 credits) 17,2 % 2. Essentials of Operative Systems(185 h – 7 credits) 49,5 % 3. Algoritms and data Structures(196 h – 8 credits) 45,8 % 4. ProgramingEssentials (224 h – 9 credits) 5,8 %

  12. 2. Remedial ECTS classes? • Such a poor passing rate at exams requires remedial classes. Do such classes fit into ECTS system? • Are they allocated credits?

  13. 3. Harmonization of BH curricula Mobility? • With no harmonized curricula among BH universities, is it possible to have student mobilities? • No coordination among BH professional areas/departments. • Is ECTS justified without mobility?

  14. 4. Mobility at international level? • Besides lack of in-state and regional mobility, European/international level mobility is also difficult, mainly due to poor foreign language knowledge. • Also, our universities don’t offer enough courses in English/ some foreign language. • Is our aim one-way mobility?

  15. Conclusions First real experience in facing ECTS problem area have been gained through the University ECTS project We produced information packages that we don’t use

  16. Results? No mobility. No curricula transparency. No curricula harmonization in BiH. How to really introduce ECTS?

  17. Future activities? • Smooth student mobilities within B&H, in the region and then in European/ international context will be only validproof of succsseful work with ECTS • This Tempus project can be a good starting point for real implementation and first mobilities (IT, English and Economy departments, as agreed before)

  18. Thank you for your attention!
