Winter 2011-2012 EOCTest Administration Schedule • * Any student not finished by the end of the allotted time may continue working; however, testing must be completed within the same school day. • Districts have selected one of the above administration windows to administer the test. For security purposes, testing at a school should be completed within one week, if possible; however, up to two consecutive weeks will be allowed to accommodate computer-based testing needs. Districts may schedule one or more sessions per day, depending on school-level circumstances. • Since the testing window allows for multiple sessions to be scheduled throughout the week, it is also possible to reassign absent students to an existing session scheduled later in the week rather than creating separate make-up sessions. • Any deviation from this schedule requires written approval from the FDOE prior to implementation.
Manual • One manual (Winter EOC Manual) is provided for this administration. Instructions for computer-based (CBT), paper-based (PBT), and accommodated forms administrations are all included in this manual.
What’s New for Winter EOC • The four-function calculators distributed by the FDOE, formerly referred to as “FCAT calculators,” are now called “approved four-function calculators” and are the only hand-held calculators that can be used for this administration (except for approved calculators for students with visual impairments). • Students are now required to sign/agree to a pledge that states that they will not “give or receive unauthorized help” and they acknowledge that such help is cheating. • Beginning with this administration, paper-based large print and one-item-per-page (OIPP) versions will no longer be available for computer-based tests. Large print and OIPP will be provided in computer-based test format only. • Test administrators must maintain an accurate seating chart for each group of students testing in the same room.
What’s New for Winter EOC • In addition to the Florida EOC Administration and Security Agreement, test administrators are now required to sign a Test Administrator Prohibited Activities Agreement indicating that they understand prohibited activities during test administration and possible consequences of inappropriate behavior (Appendix E). • Districts must make arrangements to test Florida Virtual School (FLVS) Full-Time public school students, as well as other virtual program students, per Section 1002.45(6)b, Florida Statutes (F.S.). • For this administration, hardcopy reference sheets will be provided for ALL students, not just for students with a paper-based accommodation.
What’s New for Winter EOC • Accommodated computer-based test forms (large print, color contrast, zoom, screen reader, assistive devices) will be accessed using TestHear software. Instructions are in the Winter EOC Manual. • Beginning with this administration, the Florida Computer-Based Testing Work Folders have graph paper printed on the back cover. • Transcription of paper-based forms into computer-based forms is not needed for this administration. The paper-based forms are now scannable and can be submitted to Pearson for scoring.
Reminders for Winter EOC • See the Winter EOC manual for more details on all reminders. • For paper-based and computer-based administrations: • Inappropriate actions by school or district personnel before, during, or after test administration may result in consequences including test invalidations and/or loss of teaching certification. • Students may not have any electronic or recording devices at their desks, in their pockets, or anywhere they can reach them during testing, even if the devices are turned off or the students do not use them. • If a student begins a test and leaves campus without finishing, he or she will NOT be allowed to complete that test. • Forms and materials for test administration can be found at www.FLAssessments.com/WinterEOC. • Manuals must be provided to itinerant teachers in time for them to prepare, and itinerant teachers must be included in test administrator training. • School assessment coordinators and test administrators must maintain certain required administration information, as directed by the district assessment coordinator.
CBT: Reminders for Winter EOC • For computer-based testing only: • Test Administrator user accounts are available in PearsonAccess. The district assessment coordinator has received instructions for creating/assigning these accounts. • Students are required to participate in a practice test (ePAT) using the appropriate script provided in the manual.
