Campus Updates • Cougar Village II opens with 1,144 new beds for Freshmen and Cougar Place opens with 799 new beds for Sophomores and upperclassmen • New Welcome Center student garage opens with 1,500 new parking spaces • Phase 1 of the New UC opens in January 2014 with a 450-seat theater, food court, and two-story bookstore • New football stadium will open in 2014

Scholarships • UH Tier One • Covers all tuition, mandatory fees, and two years housing • Renewable for four years • For students who have scored a minimum of 1300 on the verbal and math sections of the SAT (29 ACT composite) and are graduating in the top 10 percent of their class • Academic Excellence • $2,500 - $8,500 • Based on SAT or ACT scores and class rank • Renewable for four years • For students who have a competitive academic profile - typically a score of 1200 on the critical reading and math portions of the SAT (26 ACT composite) with a class rank in the top 20 percent • Must have a completed application by December 1
