What is a Prediction? • A prediction is to foretell what you think will happen as a result of known events. In other words… What do you think will happen next?
Let’s Practice! The puppy had been abandoned, and it made its way down the road toward the Lacy’s small house, its ears tucked, its tail between its legs, shivering. Doris, whose school had been called off because of the snow, was out shoveling the cinderblock front steps when she spotted the pup on the road. What do you think Doris will do? Make a prediction.
How do you draw conclusions based on Cause and Effect? • Remember, what is a conclusion? • A Cause is an event or something that happens. • The Effect is what happens as a result of the Cause. • A Conclusion is the decision you make based on the cause and effect. Cause: You do all your homework Effect: You get an A. Conclusion: You are a responsible student.
