First Announcement EMAT Winter shop on Transmission Electron Microscopy “A complete training on HRTEM or TEM spectroscopy focused on hands-on experience” WORK January 8 – January 26, 2007 Antwerp, Belgium More information: ematworkshop@ua.ac.be
Introduction Dear Microscopists, Following the success of the former two editions of the “EMAT Winter School”, it is our pleasure to announce the “EMAT Winter Workshop 2007”! The workshop provides a state-of-the-art training in Transmission Electron Microscopy at the highest level. Lectures will be given by staff members of the EMAT research group and special topics are covered by guest lectures. The main focus of the workshop is to provide practical experience with a broad range of TEM instruments. New from this year is that we offer the choice between 2 different modules, “High Resolution TEM” or “TEM spectroscopy”, preceded by a satellite workshop on “Basic TEM”. A preliminary program for each of the modules is given on the following pages. To ensure the interactivity during practical sessions, the number of participants for each module is limited and registrations will be treated on a first-come, first-served basis. All participants are asked to present their current work in a 5-minute oral presentation at the beginning of the workshop. We look forward to meet you in Antwerp in January 2007. With very best regards, The organizing committee, Sara Bals, Sandra Van Aert and Gustaaf Van Tendeloo
