Today’s Assessment Planning Objectives: • Develop shared understanding of the proposed plan—its components and contributing factors/initiatives • Provide valuable input regarding aspects of the plan that remain in development • Understand next steps and your role as a building representative regarding communication and feedback gathering from teachers and other administrators in your building Assessment Planning 2012-13

Station 1: Guiding Principles of Parkway’s Assessment System (Becky Langrall) Station 2: Components and Timeline of State Assessment Changes (MSIP 5, NCLB Waiver Request, Smarter Balanced) and Three-Year Draft Plan (Julie Collins) Station 3: A Timeline Model of District (Benchmark) Assessment/Teacher-Created (PLC) Formative Assessment (Derek Scott) Station 4: Analysis of District (Benchmark) Assessment (Darcie Brady) All Aboard!

  7. TLA Curriculum Coordinators will continue discussion tomorrow (March 14, 2012) regarding recommendations for district (benchmark) assessments • Based upon that discussion and input from today, tools will be prepared and posted for your use with your building teams to gather input (Google doc): • Guiding Principles/Roles & Responsibilities • Summary/talking points of factors and considerations along with supporting documents • Three-year plan • Elementary, middle school, and high school plans with proposed testing windows • Other items? Next Steps

  8. As DAD:PMI representative, work with building administrators to consider the best method for sharing this information and gathering feedback • Building Feedback Timeline: • March 26-April 18 Next Steps, continued
