Ako je prije–ysuglasniktadagaispuštamoidodajemonastavak–ied. • Upitniiniječnioblicitvore se uzpomoćpomoćnogglagola 'to do' koji u oblikuzaprošlostglasidid. • glavniglagolostaje u infinitivubez 'to'.

Ovoglagolskovrijemekoristimozaradnjučijevrijemenijenavedenoali: • (a) je bila u tijeku u perioduzavršenom u prošlosti. “He sailed on the Vangafor four years.” (više ne plovi) • (b) se desilaunutarperiodazavršenogu prošlosti. “My grandfather once saw Marilyn Monroe.”
