BUSINESS PLAN 2014-15 The Constitution requires the Council to produce a Business Plan and Annual Budget for endorsement by members at the AGM. This is designed to ensure the Association satisfies member expectations and the continued financial viability of the PIA.
BUSINESS PLAN • Vision & Key Objectives • Our vision is for PIA to play a leadership role in the growth of the Australian Pump Industry. • Provide additional services to Members • Increase membership participation at all levels • Improve engagement with Government Agencies • Develop a statistical basis for decision-making • Participate in the development of Pump Standards • Provide training opportunities for members and for clients who are involved with pump procurement • Develop Industry alliances with target partners
CODE OF ETHICS • Members will conduct their businesses to adopt the highest ethical, moral and civic standards which apply in Australia. • Members will implement policies and programs which ensure all stakeholders in the business will be treated with respect and consideration. They will encourage an atmosphere of openness and freedom of expression in their business activities and ensure all staff are aware of the company’s commitment to best practice and professionalism
CODE OF ETHICS • Council defines the code of ethics to include the following: • Integrity – Developing a reputation for dependability and performing accordingly in all business situations • Honesty – Honouring business obligations and not making false claims about products, services or the activities of competitors that are untrue. • Equality – Treat everybody in an even handed way irrespective of age, sex, race or religion and engage in programs for the training and human development of personnel at all levels within the organisation. • Fairness – Adopt policies of fair trading and open competition in the market • Corporate citizenship – To keep abreast of all aspects of Australian Law and Government Rules and Regulations, as they apply to the industry.This will include issues of collusion, price fixing and restrictive trade practices, consumer protection and health and safety regulations.

INITIATIVES FOR 2015 • Continue market research activities including IbisWorld data updates to assess the size of the Australian market and levels of employment generated. • Hold regular meetings in the Capital Cities for the benefit of members • Organise Seminars & workshops in Capital Cities to increase industry awareness of Australian capabilities for pump equipment • Increase availability of training programs to service the needs of members, including promotion of the BPMA training program and the New PIA Installation & Commissioning Course now in development. • Ongoing Review of PIA publications and upgrade as required. • Monitor, review and involvement as appropriate in pump related Australian Standards. • Develop & Maintain relationships with like minded Associations
INITIATIVES FOR 2015 MARKET RESEARCH ACTIVITIES. PIA has engaged IbisWorld to provide us with independent market information. They produced a report in Jan 2014 on the Pump & Compressor Industry in Australia and this will be updated periodically. It is available to us to see how the pump market is changing year on year. We are also able to access reports on other sectors that may be of interest to members. FEEDBACK??
